Rules
Short rules,
kept strictly.
The whole platform runs on one promise: every test is a real person, a full recording and honest answers. These rules protect that.
// For players
- 16 or older. Anywhere in the world. You need to write your answers in English.
- Your first test is an unpaid audition. It goes to a developer as their free playtest. We review it, and passing it verifies your card for paid work. If it does not pass, we tell you why and you get another try.
- You set your rate: $3, $4 or $5 per test. You keep all of it. You are paid for every approved paid test.
- Record the whole session in one unedited take, from the moment the game starts. Screen and game audio are required; voice commentary is optional (tick it on your card if you do it).
- Play at least the session length the developer asked for (15, 20 or 30 minutes), unless the build runs out sooner. Then say so.
- Answer every question honestly and specifically. "It was fine" is not an answer. Timestamps from your recording make your answers gold.
- Deliver on time. Accept a request within 72 hours. Once accepted, you have 72 hours to deliver (5 days for your audition).
- One account per person. No AI-written answers, no recycled recordings. Either gets your card removed.
- Every build is a closed playtest. Never share the build, its download link or its files with anyone. Never stream it, and never post your recording, screenshots or clips anywhere public unless the developer says so in writing. Your recording link stays unlisted and goes only to that developer.
- Delete the build when you are done. Once you submit your test, uninstall the game and delete every copy, download and key you got for it. You do not keep a developer's build.
- Leaking a build ends your account. Sharing, streaming or keeping a build is the one rule with no second try: your card is removed for good and the developer is told.
// For developers
- One free playtest per developer. It is a new player's audition, reviewed by us before it reaches you.
- Each paid test costs the player's rate ($3 to $5) plus a $1 platform fee. You pay from prepaid credit (top up via PayPal from $10).
- The build link must just work. No passwords, no "email me for a key", no account walls the player cannot pass alone. Tell players anything they need in the instructions.
- You may ask up to three questions of your own per game. Every player answers them on top of our standard questions.
- Review within 72 hours. Approve to pay the player, or flag a problem. After 72 hours, tests are approved automatically.
- Flags are for broken rules, not opinions. Missing or private video, a session far too short, empty or copy-paste answers: refunded. A player who honestly did not enjoy your game is exactly what you paid for.
- Your build stays closed. It never goes on a public page. Only players matched to your game see the link, and every player has agreed not to share, stream or keep it, and to delete it after their test. Tell us if a build leaks and we remove that player for good.
- Players own their recordings. You get to watch and use them to improve your game. Ask the player before publishing any part of one.
- Be decent. Ratings are for usefulness. Harassing players gets your account closed.
// How to record
Windows
Xbox Game Bar is built in: press Win + G, then the record button (or Win + Alt + R). For browser games or long sessions, OBS Studio (free, obsproject.com) is more reliable: add a "Display Capture" or "Game Capture" source and press Start Recording.
Mac
Press Cmd + Shift + 5 and choose "Record Entire Screen". It does not capture game audio by itself, so use OBS Studio when the game has sound (it does on most).
Linux
OBS Studio (Flatpak or your distro's package). Use "Screen Capture (PipeWire)" on Wayland or "Screen Capture (XSHM)" on X11, plus "Desktop Audio".
Android and iOS
Use the built-in screen recorder from the quick settings / control center. Turn on "media sound" (Android) so game audio is recorded. Long-press the iOS record button to turn the microphone on for commentary.
Uploading
- YouTube: upload and set visibility to Unlisted (not Private). Easiest for developers to watch.
- Google Drive / Dropbox: upload, then share as "Anyone with the link can view".
- Streamable: fine for shorter sessions.
- Open your link in a private browser window before submitting. If it asks you to sign in, the developer cannot see it either.
// Money
- Developer credit: top up $10, $25, $50 or $100. We send a PayPal invoice (or a PayPal.me link). Credit lands once paid. Unused credit can be refunded on request.
- Holds: booking a player or posting an open call holds the cost from your credit. Declined, expired, undelivered and upheld-flag tests go straight back to your credit.
- Player payouts: by PayPal once your balance reaches $10, usually within a week. Set your PayPal email on your card.
- Taxes: players are independent; declaring earnings is up to you where you live.
// Privacy, briefly
We store what you type into the signup forms and your test submissions. Emails are never shown publicly: player cards show only your gamer tag, country and the profile you wrote; the games list shows only title, genre and pitch. Build links are shown only to players matched to that game, who agree to delete the build after their test; recordings and answers only to that game's developer. Want your account deleted? Reply to any email we sent you and we will remove it.
